The Valley Crest Farm Wedding of Meredith and Kenneth

Watch their gorgeous highlights here:

Meredith and Kenneth’s day started with coverage of them getting ready at the Courtyard Marriot in Lebanon NJ, where they saw each other for the first time that day. Then it was off to Downtown Clinton by the Red Mill Museum for some great shots with the bridal party and the couple on the Bridge, and by this beautiful and lush Rock wall. This was followed by a couple stops at Valley Crest Farm in Lebanon NJ where the ceremony and reception would be held. First at a white barn near a silo, and then on the road to the farm for some woodsy shots, and finally on the farm itself.

There was a beautiful pond, and a huge tree where the ceremony was held, plus the reception area had a rustic farmer’s market feel to it. For the ceremony the guests were invited to make their own dried herbs and flowers mixture in a paper cone which they tossed at the bride and groom at the end. Each herb and flower represented something important to marriage, like lavendar for kindness, and roses for love, and sage for wisdom, and oregano for patience.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed popcorn and drinks, including some fruity iced teas, before making their way uphill to the reception. At the reception there was a cigar bar, and some games set up for guests to enjoy, like the bean bag toss. This was a non-traditional reception, and so there were no intro, no first dance, no parent dances, and no cake cutting. There were toasts however, which were all great. Listen to what the dad says, it’s very sweet, and the maid of honor’s rap was funny. We’re filming her wedding this May!!

They wanted to be very non-traditional, so there was no first dance, no parent dances, no cake cutting, etc. I was able to capture a shot of Meredith dancing with her dad at one point, although not a slow song, but unfortunately I never got a shot of Ken with his mom. If you think you might cherish those moments, or that your parents would, don’t be afraid to be traditional, at least for a few minutes 😉

It was an absolutely gorgeous day with lots of unique and creative touches throughout, and I’m thrilled they loved the highlights. I even got a note from her dad who said it was “Super Fantastic”. Congrats again Meredith and Kenneth!!

Here’s her review on WeddingWire

“Frankly, I wasn’t interested in videography for our wedding. It was something my mother wanted to have, so I did some quick searching on WeddingWire and booked with Eric because he was local, his prices fit my budget, and I really couldn’t be bothered with another decision at that point. Man, did I luck out! Our wedding highlight video is spectacular, and truly captures the best parts of the day. Our parents loved getting their blu-ray copies as their own keepsakes, too. What’s more, Eric listened to my comments on what I liked (and didn’t like) about other highlight videos and made sure to incorporate (or eliminate) elements based on my preferences. We have such a special keepsake from our day, which we honestly watch ALL THE TIME. We’ve gotten so, so many compliments, and we also have something like eight hours of raw footage we can always have re-edited into a longer video down the line if we like. Let this be a lesson– listen to your mother, she usually knows best, and hire Creative Unlimited for your videography needs.” – Meredith

Note: They really only got about 4 hours of footage. If you got 8 you would blow your brains out, haha.

A Wedding Proposal

Uri contacted me about his upcoming proposal, and thought it would be a cool idea to have it captured. Having recently done another proposal (Sidharth and Pooja), I was happy to help work out the details and make sure it went smoothly (assuming she would say yes). Since he was in Florida, the plan was they would be visiting NJ to visit family, and he had a nice day planned for her including horseback riding, and then a stop at the park where they went on one of their first dates. Uri and I met the day before the big moment, and worked out where I would be, and where he would be, and even arranged to meet in the bathroom when he arrived so I could mic him discreetly. He even insisted I make a cameo in the film, while we recorded some of the behind the scenes moments.

Watch as the proposal all comes together here:

Of COURSE she said yes 😉

The Lake Mohawk Country Club Wedding of Emily and Barrett

Emily’s mother in law contacted us about 2 weeks before the wedding saying she really wants to get Emily and her son Barrett a video. She told me some people at the reception weren’t in the best health, and she felt it’s important to capture everyone. Everything took place at the Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta NJ. The weather was a little iffy with rain, but as soon as the time came for them to see each other, the skies started clearing up, and by the beginning of the reception there was even a beautiful Rainbow in the sky. Thankfully the sun came out and we got some gorgeous shots by the lake!!

Soon after they received the raw footage I got a fantastic e-mail from Emily about how they’re SOOO glad they got video, how much they missed that day, and how they realize photography is NOT enough! There were just so many amazing moments, from a couple of hilarious fumbles during the readings at the reception, to a kiss under that beautiful rainbow. One of my favorite parts was her mom’s speech about raising a kid to be happy, and ohh just watch the video!!! Is it ever the same to talk about it when you can actually show it?? Congrats to the happy and very in love couple!!

The Royal Manor Wedding of Susie and Paul

Susie and Paul’s day, starting with each of them getting ready at their parent’s homes, followed by a Greek Orthodox Ceremony at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in West Nyack, NY. Greek orthodox ceremonies are unique in that the bride and groom do not say any vows, so we tend to use more audio bytes from the priest, or the best man and maid of honor’s speeches. We stopped at Lambert Castle in West Patterson NJ, for some great shots with the bridal party, and then it was off to The Royal Manor in Garfield NJ for a fun reception that mixed both the bride and groom’s cultures, Paul’s Greek and Susie’s Egyptian. It was a fun middle eastern wedding, complete with a belly dancer! Congrats to the happy couple.

The Crystal Plaza Wedding of Cara and John

Cara and John’s wedding at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston NJ. The couple got ready at the Westminster Hotel, where they exchanged very sweet notes with each other. They met up at the Crystal Plaza before the ceremony for bridal party and family portraits, followed by in interfaith ceremony, mixing their Jewish and Christian backgrounds. The priest even incorporated their old friend Ronald McDonald, as the couple met while working at McDonald’s when they were 15 and 16. They have been together ever since. An awesome day for an awesome couple. Congrats!!
