The Highlawn Pavilion Wedding of Alaina and Ryan

NJ Wedding Video Highlights from Alaina and Ryan’s day at The Highlawn Pavilion:

Alaina and Ryan met at a friend’s party, and soon became inseparable. They gave each other the cute nickname of Rice and Bean. Ryan was bean because he cooked a lot of beans when they first started dating, haha. They got ready at the Wilshire Grand Hotel where they did their first look, followed by some bridal party and family portraits at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange NJ. There’s a lovely view of the NYC skyline.

The outdoor ceremony was short and sweet and was followed by a fun daytime reception in the upstairs at the Highlawn, kicked off by a nicely choreographed dance by our couple, and some funny and moving speeches by the best man and maid of honor, as well as Alaina’s dad. It was a beautiful day for a very happy and sweet couple. Rice and Bean forever!

The Willowwood Arboretum Wedding of Colleen and Bill

The Wedding Video Highlights from Colleen and Bill’s day at the Willowwood Arboretum:

Colleen’s mom was actually the one that booked us. She was referred by a relative whose wedding we filmed a few years earlier, and she loved what we did for them and booked right over the phone. She explained Colleen wasn’t even keen on a big wedding, let alone a video, but she knew it would something they would enjoy and appreciate afterwards, and we’re very happy to say they LOVED IT!

On the day we started at Colleen’s parents’ beautiful home. Everyone was getting ready, and it was such a gorgeous location we got tons of great shots of details. One of my favorite shots was using a magnifying glass to show off the invitation. For me though it’s the little moments between people that I look for and love, like Colleen talking to her dad, and mom giving her a kiss while she finishes getting dressed, and of course then there’s the first look with her groom. I set up a 2nd camera under the tree which captured it perfectly through a little hole in the leaves.

The rest of the day was at the Willowwood Arboretum which is absolutely a gorgeous place. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony complete with butterflies fluttering about, an outdoor cocktail hour, and a really nice tented reception. The band that evening was Groove Band, and they did a fantastic job of rocking that party. The floor was packed all night. A fantastic wedding for a really great couple. As Bill says, now he’s got her, the papers are signed, haha. Congrats to the happy couple.

The Mountain View Golf Course wedding of Jessica and Ben

Jessica was the maid of honor at Politimi and Nick’s Wedding. They referred her to us. I actually photographed this one myself, rather than sending my usual crew, in order to work with their budgetary constraints. I’ve photographed many engagement shoots, but when it comes to a wedding I’m usually behind a video camera. However I’ve definitely learned from the best over the years, and it’s actually MUCH easier to transition to photography from videography than the other way around. A lot of the concepts are similar, but of course with video we’re worried more about holding our shots longer and steady, and audio, and motion, etc.

Jessica and Ben both got ready at the Spring Hill Suites in Ewing Township NJ. I started with the girls, who were in the midst of hair and makeup. Got some beautiful shots of the dress against that beautiful cloudy sky threatening to rain. It was great to see Politimi again, and hear about her baby. Jessica and Ben have a boy together as well, and he’s adorable. You’ll see plenty of him after the ceremony which was at Sayen Gardens in Hamilton NJ. It was lightly drizzling, misting really, as the ceremony began. Thankfully it stopped. I barely had enough time to get positioned before snapping some shots of the girls making their way down the aisle. Should have probably left sooner from the hotel sooner, but I didn’t really expect them to start immediately upon arrival, haha.

The ceremony was very sweet. I love the emotion from Jessica, and the big smiles from Ben. You can see they’re really in love. Afterwards we got some great shots with the 2 of them, family, and bridal party. The location is gorgeous. If we had more time I would have liked to go around more, I’ve been there before and there are plenty of spots for great shots. It was off to the Reception though at Mountain View Golf Course back in Ewing NJ. A nice little spot for more intimate events. Guests had already started enjoying cocktail hour, and soon after we did introductions, first dance, parent dances, and toasts. Then the rest of the night was just fun partying. A great couple, and a beautiful day.

The Imperia Same Day Edit of Vanessa and Rafael

Vanessa and Rafael booked us for photography and videography for their day. German and I started with Vanessa at the Fairfield Inn in Somerset NJ, while Steven and Pete were with Rafael at his home. We LOVED Vanessa’s shoes, a sweet pair of sneakers. They did a first reveal at the Imperia on Easton, located in Somerset NJ, where the ceremony and reception would be held. After a sweet reunion we then captured some great family and bridal party portraits, plus some with their Daughter. The word of the day was mocos, to get extra big smiles, especially from their daughter. That’s spanish for Boogers, haha.

The beautiful ceremony was highlighted by a special gift for their little girl, and some tearful vows. The Imperia amazed as usual with a fantastic cocktail hour before the bride and groom were introduced into the reception, in the lower room. It was a fun evening with some amazing emotional moments like the mother daughter dance, and the speech by Vanessa before it. While we were busy filming, Rahim, our editor, was in back putting together an amazing little Same Day Highlights to show everyone.
